Why are Toyota Chasers so Popular all of a Sudden?

The sudden popularity is easily explained by one thing: the best year of the Chasers is the 6th generation which started in 1996, 25 years ago. According to dated and illogical import laws, this is the earliest we can import into the states, but now that they are here…

These things are AWESOME! I wish I had known them sooner. It was Toyota’s challenger for the GT-R and so many later models had all-wheel drive. The best part? They came with a Supra 2JZ engine! The JZX100 (pictured) had a 1JZ Turbo which could also be manual.

Although not completely stock, this is the interior of a Chaser 2000. Note the cup holder and snack holder.

The fixed versions of this are similar to the Supras, but with the AWD advantage, and they push 600 bhp! You would be hard pressed to think of another time such a capable engine would be in a JDM with AWD.

Would you drive one?
