However, the location of Sacred Heart Hospital in the fictional world of Scrubs is ambiguous. The City of Scrubs should remain anonymous to reinforce that the situations apply to all locations, according to the team.[citation needed] The show’s cast and crew call the location “San DiFrangeles” – a portmanteau of San Diego, San Francisco and Los Angeles that’s supposed to encompass much of California.

“North Hollywood Medical Center was a hospital, in operation from 1952 to 1998, in the community of North Hollywood, a district in the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles. The hospital is famous for being the filming location, from 2001 to 2008, of the award-winning hospital comedy television show Scrubs. Located at 12629 Riverside Drive, the building was demolished in mid-2011. In February 2013, IMT Residencial opened a new apartment complex on the site.

I think it’s in Detroit. When JD’s father dies, Dr. Cox presents JD with a Redwings jersey. There is also an episode where a doctor is on Greenland time and three hours ahead, which would cause the show’s location to be in the central time zone.
