This Musou Black Mitsubishi Lancer is so dark it’ll hurt your hea

Remember when BMW sprayed an X6 with ‘VantaBlack’ paint and everyone freaked out? Well, consider it an amateurish attempt, after YouTuber DipYourCar painted them in this unusual (and frankly weird) “Musou Black” paint job.

As humans we naturally try to outdo ourselves, it’s part of who we are, but the ongoing quest to find the “blackest” black ink is a bit lost on me. It’s one thing, though, and it could be the next stepping stone to finding the world’s most absorbent paint.

This water-based acrylic called ‘Musou Black’ claims to absorb 99.4% of all light hitting the car’s body, resulting in a stunning finish that looks like a badly made video game model in the best way possible. .

Seeing the car move (around 5:30 in the video) is an even stranger situation as it looks animated, while the lights and other unpainted parts of the car look fake, almost as if they are fake stickers on a NASCAR vehicle.

Describing the effect as “actual photoshop”, Fonzie, the owner of DipYourCar described the entire process during the video, explaining what it takes to turn a car into a silhouette of yourself.

However, the paint was not designed for use in a vehicle and is unlikely to be the kind of process to try at home. The paint is also incredibly delicate as it was designed to paint miniature models and figures as opposed to full-size sports cars.

Is this the ultimate “blacked out” car, or just an amazing (and weird) publicity stunt? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
