The Dodge Viper set to return in 2021?

Modeled after the Shelby 427 Cobra, the Dodge Viper was first released in 1991 with Carroll Shelby driving the pre-production Cobra as the race car for the Indianapolis 500. 450 lb-ft of torque. Rumor has it that the 2021 Dodge Viper will ditch the V10 for a lighter V8, without sacrificing any power, pushing out a leaning spirit, 550 horsepower. But it does not stop there. There are also rumors of a separate trim level that would offer a supercharged V8 among many other performance-enhancing features, producing over 700 horsepower.

The Viper is also said to retain its traditional manual transmission, which will be a dream come true for many enthusiasts who want that closer connection to their car that an automatic or paddle shifter simply doesn’t offer. While there hasn’t been much else on the 2021 Viper, as it’s still too early to tell, its price is said to be under $90,000. However, with the new C8 Corvette at such a low price, you can get your load for a few bucks less than expected.

What do you think of the possibility of a 2021 Dodge Viper? Are you too late? How do you feel about losing the V10? Could it be worth buying over the new Corvette? Let me know what you’d like to see with the 2021 Dodge Viper.
