Why Is Walmart Allowed To Sell Your Pickup Order To Someone Else. ?

I ordered an item for pickup and when I came to pick it up in the available time they said they were out of stock. If I had known it could be sold to other people who came to the store, I would have gone there the day it was available. It was a Nintendo Switch so I’m really upset because they’re sold out everywhere. Why can they sell something if it has already been ordered and paid for online?

It’s a trade policy. Another amazing policy that favors the customer is giving gifts. We can enjoy this kind of gift.

Because you did NOT go there right away to look for it.

Most companies prioritize who pays smh first

Well, in Australia we have a big bunny, it’s a super store for international goods.

Looks like you’re going to have to work this out with Wal-Mart. Contact the company’s customer service center.

Not my experience. When I showed up I showed the claim number, they took the item and I paid and left. if you don’t show up when asked, they might assume you won’t buy it and sell it to someone else.

you have a specified time to pick up an order you paid for, they can’t sell it to someone else during that time, if you don’t pick it up within that time, they can sell it and they have it perfectly fine right, but they have to return your money

The inventory displayed on hand is shifted in real time because someone can take the last one on the shelf and have it in their cart when you placed your order for the “last one”. So the scavenger goes looking for it and guess what, it’s no longer available. Whoever has it in the cart wins, you lose.

It’s not a foolproof system, especially when you have a lot of jerks working on it. He arrives at 4 p.m. with a bag of kibble on top and spilled motor oil underneath. It gets stuck. So I hope someone overnight picks up what you ordered and brings it to the warehouse department, marks it correctly and also puts everything on the computer. The biggest problem in logistics is the “hope someone does it right” part.
IDK if there is a law or even a policy to protect you. Probably not. The point is that they strive to earn the trust of consumers. There are no laws that allow or prohibit a “yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, I got it for you bro”.

The first come, first served rule applies. Talk to Walmart business if it bothers you so much.
