Palm trees are not “wood” in the botanical sense… I don’t know how they are classified, but the stems do not have the same cellular structure, for example. leaves – they die, so the remaining part of the leaves forms the new stem, or trunk, of the tree. Bottom line, palm trunks just don’t float.
