Why is cellular respiration considered to be much more efficient than glycolysis alone?

Glycolysis breaks down the glucose molecule into two pyruvate molecules, and they still have high-energy bonds. These bonds are broken during the aerobic part of respiration and the energy they release is stored in ATP molecules which will then be used by the cell as an energy source.
