What’s the dress code policy for Bath and Body Works employees?

Hmm… I guess I’m late to answer this, but here are some tips from one BBW girl to another…

I have two pairs of work pants; khaki and black. Both are Kohls’ SO brand. I think I got mine for $15… as long as it’s not jeans, it doesn’t matter. Don’t wear too much clothes…your work clothes will be covered in disgusting things (dust, shower gel, random things from the floor…) and it’s better to have specific clothes for work.

Shoes… no sneakers is the rule. I have a pair of brown sneakers that I can get away with (which I wear with my khakis) and I usually end up with heels or flats with my black pants. Find comfortable shoes…preferably ones you can walk up a ladder in, because you never know when you’re going to be on a ladder.

Officially, you can only wear open shoes in the auction room; you cannot use them if you are in the back room. Unofficially: Always wear closed shoes. If you have a few things in your hand and one slips and taps your foot, you won’t be a happy camper. (Trust me…)

The official policy is that shirts must have a collar… but not all stores impose this (not mine). A simple polo shirt is enough. (I usually wear V-neck t-shirts with a sweater…) As for revealing shirts…if you’re wondering, you shouldn’t wear them. You will have an aƥŗ.ǫŋ on, so that covers a lot… but keep in mind that BBW tries to maintain a classy image and there are a lot of old ladies shopping there…

I know this didn’t help your guidance, but I hope it gives an indication of how far you can push the dress code for future shifts…

Welcome to BBW! :]
