Tons Of Fleas In My Bathroom?

No pets, definitely fleas. Where could these little idiots come from?? As soon as I enter the bathroom, they jump on my legs! What do I do?

Understand how Capstar works. It quickly kills all active fleas but offers no long term protection. Thus, once the fleas are dead, new ones can jump without risk for the flea. One approach might be to use Capstar and then follow up with something like Frontline Plus which will provide long term protection and also prevent eggs from hatching. But the death of the flea is not immediate. It kills fleas within 24 hours for the first two weeks after proper application, then 48-72 hours for the next two weeks. But you also have to know where the cat is going, and that can sometimes be a real challenge. A long time ago I had great success with a flea pump nebulizer, but reading current reviews, those available seem mixed to daunting. Often a rigorous suction with a vertical works well. Fleas generally do not survive a trip through an upright vacuum cleaner.

Place a shallow pan of soapy water on the floor, light a flashlight directly over it, turn off the other lights, and close the door. Fleas will be attracted to light and drown in water.

If you have them in the bathroom, they are in the rest of your house. Vacuuming will help…just be sure to throw away the bag after each vacuum. You can sprinkle borax (Borateem or 20 Mule Team Borax) on the floor, carpets and furniture and let it sit for a few days…..it’s toxic to fleas…..but don’t use it if you have pets at home. When you no longer see fleas jumping on you and no more bites, vacuum again.

set off a flea bomb…if they’re in the bathroom…they’re everywhere else…follow the instructions…turn it off, leave…go back and vacuum and sweep and get rid of what you sweep and vacuum… clean all your surfaces… You get a clean, flea-free home in just one pass..!!

No no no.
Flea hunter. Believe me, it’s awesome. A queen flea has laid a bunch of eggs in your bathroom and they’ve probably been dragged through the frame. With the arrival of high heat, they hatched. Just sweep it on the bathroom floor, spread it over the frame and leave it there. It’s designed for carpets, but I’ve also had luck with tiles. It’s the best $40 I’ve spent in my life.
If you have a pet, apply Frontline to it. It’s available for cats, online, or at some Costcos for $35 for a 3-pack. Then, after Rover or Fluffy has used it for 24 hours, put it to sleep in the bathroom. They will clean the fleas. When fleas bite you, they die.
Try either/or. Both can be overdone.
