If I have a built-in microphone, can they hear me? or just see? and can I disable a built-in microphone? (all I know about my computer is that it’s a Toshiba laptop)
When you launch your camera, yes, they will be able to hear you. But if you scroll down the box that shows you, you can mute your microphone. Plus, Omegle is really, really, really scary. You will mostly find men having fun on camera, and also people who will talk to you and be nice at first, but get really mean when they ask you to get naked and you refuse. just a warning

Yes, they can. And yes, you can disable a built-in microphone.
1. Right click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of the screen
2. Click “Recording Devices”
3. Right click on the microphone
4. Click “Disable”
5. (Optional) If you still want it to appear, right-click on a white area in your microphone area and click “Show Muted Devices” to show the muted microphone (very useful if you want it ‘activate again later)

if it’s a built-in mic, yes they can hear it. it depends on the setting you allow when launching the camera or you can mute the mic on the volume control. be prepared for most men doing stuff there and not much chatter. same thing.
