physics ch 429 #32 wavelength q?

Hydrogen gas absorbs light with a wavelength of 103 nm. So what wavelengths are seen in the emission spectrum?

103nm corresponds to a transition between n=1 and n=3 states. You will therefore see the emission at n=3 -> 2 = 656nm, 3 -> 1 = 103nm and 2 -> 1 = 122nm.
