I found their website. I’ve seen tower speakers for $2,000 and systems for over $3,500. They look good, but you didn’t say which model you have, so I can only imagine they might be okay and worth just as much. I have never researched these speakers or where you can buy them. As to how they got it, I don’t know! Trying your luck. They can only be nice.

Maybe $50. They cost less than on ebay without postage.
They are a scam. They pulled him out of the back of a van. Nothing legit has an MSRP on the box. It’s part of the diet. That way the guy selling them from the back of said van can “prove” to the person they’re cheating on how much they’re worth.
Looks like you bought them for what they’re worth. You cannot buy them in stores. They are equal in quality to the $100 to $150 Coby systems you can buy at Wal Mart. The only difference is that Coby is at least a legit manufacturer and does not claim to be anything other than a cheap system.

Yeah. Absolutely a scam. These cannot be found in stores that sell legitimate equipment.
These are “white van” type speakers. These are low-end speakers designed to look high-end, advertise a premium price, and sell for less, but still far more than they’re worth.
They are called “white vans” because they are often sold by guys in white vans in parking lots. They come up to you when you go out or they go to your car pretending to be audio installers who accidentally brought too much stuff with them so they could sell it for a lot less just to get rid of it. (or another similar story..)
A dead man gives him the name. “Paramax”. They often try to look like a legit brand by having similar names to real brands so that it looks familiar to people. There is a very reputable audio company called Parasound. There is a very reputable power conditioning company (mainly for audio/video) called Panamax.
They mixed Parasound and Panamax into “Paramax” to make people think it’s a quality product.
