page numbers for quotes on shmoop!?

why after the quotation marks it is written (1.2 , 2.21 or 3.2) for example instead of the actual page numbers of the book

Answer 1

This is the chapter number, then a period, then the paragraph number

answer 2

Chmoop Fahrenheit 451

answer 3

451 Fahrenheit Shmoop

answer 4

Yeah. It is the chapter number than the paragraph number. For instance. Quote from Animal Farm Squealer about Stable Battle 7.17: Chapter Seven (VII), so count the paragraphs. However, I agree that the page number would be easier :: For schmoop, SparkNotes, CliffNotes, etc.

Answer 5

Stay away from fancy sweets

Answer 6

Nope
