Identify The Group Of Elements That Corresponds To Each Of The Following Generalized Electron Configurations.?

Identify the group of elements that correspond to each of the following generalized electronic configurations.

code black,

These are samarium and plutonium respectively. Sounds weird, but try IIIB. The two links below place them in the third group, due to their association with lanthanum and actinium.

Try it – hope it helps!

you must apply the noble gas in the line above the element you are configuring for. for this reason, the use of any element may be incorrect. Noble gases are used due to the fact that their shells are finite. because their shells are finite, they cannot take on more electrons. are robust aspects. When using the previously mentioned noble gas, the element, this noble gas due to the similar electronic configurations each time. So using it at the start produces exactly the same start each time because it won’t be possible to have a different one. Hope that helps! I hated chemistry in college…well!

Sm and Pu, I ran out of options in Mastering Chem, and this was the answer.
