How to sprain ankle on purpose?

I severely sprained my ankle about 3 weeks ago. I was in a hurry to get down the stairs, lost my balance and landed on the wrong side of my left foot, causing my left ankle to stretch inward. The first 48 hours were excruciating and the pain was unbelievable. I’ve never had a serious ankle injury before.

So I immediately processed it using the RICE method. The next day, the bruising and swelling were just as horrible. I found out I had a second degree sprain and immediately freaked out after that. I had a football game that week and I was looking forward to it because I was training for rt. I’ve had teammates who had similar injuries and it took months to fully recover, some of them stopped playing altogether. So I had a kind of short-term depression because I can’t imagine not being able to run and play sports anymore.
