I know it depends on the college, but I’m trying to get an idea of how many months in a 4 year college, I’m looking for the academic months in 4 years. I know there are usually 8 semesters in a 4 year college. I also know that in 1 semester it takes about 4 months, again depending on the college. I am applying to college in the fall of 2015 and have been trying to find out how many months are in 4 year college but I keep getting 32 months in 4 years for some reason. I don’t know if that’s true, I doubt it, but I want to be sure. THANK YOU TO A MILLION PEOPLE!
Expect 4 years regardless of months. Most people work in the summer. Summer school goes by too quickly for most students to do well in summer school. A month of summer school is not the same as a month of classes in the spring or fall semester. The summer course schedule is compressed into less time than the full fall and spring semesters.
Just count with a minimum frequency of 4 years. Go one semester at a time and do your best. Worrying every 4 years is useless in advance. The first year is all about learning how to do well in college, period. It’s harder than high school, and many aren’t used to the effort it takes to study and manage so much free time.

Mine was 36 because we did a 4-1-4 term – 4 month semester, 1 month intersession in January and another 4 month semester.
I don’t know how many months it would take you. I’m not sure I understand what months have to do with it. Different programs have different numbers of credit hours needed to complete the program. Not all programs are completed after 4 years, even if they are undergraduate programs. Some people graduate faster because they earn more credit hours per semester. Other people graduate more slowly because they receive fewer credit hours per semester. I ended up taking 9 semesters to complete my course because I changed my focus halfway through. A friend of mine failed in so many subjects that at the end of 4th grade she got an associate degree (usually 2 years) because she couldn’t meet all the requirements and in several courses, she failed as many times as possible.
Most places last 32 months, although this is usually done in 40 partial months as they usually start in the middle of the month. You’re right, locations vary, especially colleges that don’t use semesters.
