Honda Civic D15b7? Is It A Vtec?

So my honda is faster than most – in my town.

Oh my God. Will everyone stop acting like vtec is an awesome engine component that will beat any other car in the world! Why do people think if they have vtec they have a world class performance car. It’s still a Honda. It’s not a Porsche or a Ferrari.

On the engine it says d15b7 plus some other numbers… Is a vtec possible?

d15b7 is not a vtec engine d16z6 or jdm d15b is a vtec single cam the d15b you have is a jdm engine based on the d15b7 producing 105 hp in california you can put any engine as long as this engine arrived that year so 92-95 honda civic came with d15b7, d15b8, d16z6 and d15z1 so you can use any engine or any year you can use all your parts just need the longblock, ecu, vtec wire and vtec pressure switch. if you really want to feel the power use a d16z6 tranny as it has shorter gear ratios which is better than your d15b tranny i would personally swap it for a better motor like an ab series motor like ls or the gsr but for fuel economy and good power d16z6 is best d16z6 125hp 30-35mpg b18b1 140hp 30mpg b18c1 170hp vtec 25-30mpg good luck

Your Honda is probably faster than most others in your town simply because it revs under 3000 rpm while you’re pressing all the time.
Or you have just overtaken a car on the highway that is at the speed limit.
VTEC…lol.
1.5 liter engine, 10X horsepower. You know they calculate power AFTER VTEC starts… which means…. isn’t that 10X horsepower + VTEC?
VTEC is 10X power, which is very little. It only feels fast because your car pulls from the front instead of pushing from the rear, causing your head to come back into the seat. Don’t worry too much.

shouldn’t be vtec, i had the same on a civic dx 93 and it wasn’t vtec. impressive for a car that only has 102 hp, maybe it’s a mini-me.
the mini me is equal to the d15b7 with a d16z6 head (vtec head)

but i doubt it was a vtec if it was you would feel the tug after about 4k rpms, i had a d15b7 with a really good clutch and it was a new d15 and it went with the sohc vtecs.

I have a 94 for example coupe with a d15b7 and it’s not a vtec.. so mpst you’re probably going a bit too fast

Answer 7

Normally, if it’s VTEC, I’d say this.
Found on:
Honda Civic CX 1992-1995 (Canadian model)
Honda Civic DX/LX 1992-1995
Honda Civic del Sol S 1993-1995
1992-1995 Honda Civic LSi Coupe (European market)
Displacement: 1,493 cc (91.1 cu in)
Bore and stroke: 75 mm × 84.5 mm (3.0 in × 3.3 in)
Compression: 9.5:1
Power: 102 hp (76 kW) at 6200 rpm and 98 ft lbf (133 N m) at 3800 rpm
Valvetrain: SOHC (4 valves per cylinder)
Piston code: PM3
Fuel control: OBD-1 MPFI
ECU: P06

should not be
haha yeah you probably walk on the floor all the time lol or the other hondas in your town are pathetic
your engine has 102 Wh
settle this shit
btw to find out if vtec or not just accelerate quickly from low revs and see if your engine pops up near its limit

D15b7 engine

Google vtec according to oid.
If it’s vtec, there should be a small green cylindrical piece attached to the cylinder head.
Your car is energetic not fast lol.
If a civic race like yours is automatic, yours will feel much faster like most manual cars.
