Has Anyone Ever Had An Old Photo Restored @ Walgreens?

There are several stores that have this service, I just wanted to know how it went… Which store did you use? I have a picture of my stepdad when he was 18, he’s 70 now and all other pictures are lost.

images can be restored and reprinted with very good results, any digital artist can do this depending on their skills……….
if you want it, send it to me and I can help you:

First, make high quality scans of the images. You will want to do it whether YOU can actually do something or not. If the problem goes away and the images are black and white, restoring is quite simple – if you know what you’re doing. It’s too complex and detailed to explain here, but there are Photoshop tutorials that cover exactly this situation and you can google them. They are free. With a little practice, you’ll get there. Even blemishes (depending on their severity) can be treated using much the same techniques. Restoring color photos is a whole different ballgame. You will need a professional for this. If you don’t have photoshop or photoshop assets, you can use Gimp (which is free to download) to do the same. advance

If it’s a valuable photo, don’t give it to Walgreens. Go to a professional printing lab. They probably do it there, or know of a place that will. It will cost a little more money, but it will be worth it – the quality will be better and the image will be in better hands.
I even lost precious photos in a store like Walgreens. All they did was offer me a free roll of film as a “replacement” for the negatives they lost. I was heartbroken.
Go to a quality printing lab. You do not regret.

Fair personal opinion: any store that sends original photos runs the risk of losing them. The more people touch the package, the greater the chances of it being lost or damaged. Rather than going to a “delivery” location, look for a store or shop that has in-house work. It may be more expensive, but it reduces the chances of losing the original.
Scan the photo before sending it for editing, and at least you will have the photo in your hands.

I’ve used Walgreen’s in a pinch and was pleasantly surprised at how good things were.
They perform the restoration digitally, so your original is still intact. You can even ask them to scan it and take it with you to make sure nothing happens to the original.
I restored some photos of my grandfather before he immigrated from Holland. It’s amazing to see the before and after side by side.
Good luck!
