“Get A Piece Of The Rock”…What Does This Slogan Mean?

Prudential Insurance uses the Rock of Gibraltar as its corporate logo. It is believed to symbolize strength and stability.
If you buy one of their insurance policies, you get a share (figuratively speaking, of course).

It was once an advertising slogan for Prudential Insurance, which had a logo with a large cliff.
“Get a Piece of the Rock” meant buying insurance with us.

Ha ha ha ha… I remember those Prudential commercials. In the 1970s. Ten years ago, I knew a guy who said that, but he meant he was going to smoke crack. after work. He said, “I’ll take a piece of the stone…” Everybody knew what he meant. I wonder if he’s ever left that trash…
Yes, Prudential Insurance, Rock of Gibraltar.

It came out of the old Prudential Life Insurance ad. And that just meant investing in your business. Your investment was (a piece of rock.)

“Piece of the Rock” is for Prudential Insurance. Its logo is the “Rock of Gibraltar”, a solitary land formation in Europe. It reports on the strength or soundness of Prudential’s foundation.

Years ago, one of the big insurance companies had the Rock of Gibraltar as their logo, and you were supposed to ‘get a piece of the rock’, ie become an insured. I don’t remember which insurance company it was.
