Snob and stuck? Maybe there is a misunderstanding? I’ve lived in Cali all my life… This is the first time I’ve heard of this… I think there are also cultural differences between the states. I think Californians take longer to get used to people. Most people are very private (at least the ones I know) and would rather talk about movies/interests than themselves. They will never ask many questions about you because they consider this your privacy, and they hate snooping around, and whenever you want to tell them about yourself, you will do so freely. I don’t know… The Californians I know also try to help people in any way they can, whether they’re foreigners or not. I don’t know… maybe it’s just the Californians I know…

Half of the people who commented on this question didn’t even live on either side of the United States. I laugh so much when I see people think there’s nothing wrong with the stereotypical Californian. Stereotypes exist for a reason because they are true and they happen all the time, don’t they? I’ve lived on both the east and west coasts and when I moved to California I definitely realized the people there were fake. I can’t tell you how materialistic Californians are. They put up a facade. The east coast has a bit of southern hospitality. West coast says east coast people are rude, but west coast people are still so hurt and sensitive. The East Coast tells you what it’s like minus the bs.

hey don’t hate all californians…there will always be mean people and nice people everywhere. i went to england and i found some nice people but there were some nasty ones… i’m a california girl and i don’t think i’m snobby or arrogant lol… i’m sure you’re nice guy just wanting opinions…i’m sure you thought this was the wrong californs to be with lol anyway the fact is…everywhere you go there will be people stuck!

The culture there is very “let’s have fun now and see what happens and go with the flow”, it’s not snobby, it’s just not serious like on the east coast.
