What Its The Meaning Of HAZAP, Is That A Law, Or A Standar Of Quality System??

I’m talking about something like the haccp system, or the environment in food and beverage production

“Faced with the increase in the number of cases of food poisoning in recent years, the federal government will put in place a food safety program. Food businesses will be required to implement a Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP – pronounced “Hazap”) system. This style of system is already in place for the meat industry and covers the manufacture of meat products from pasture to slaughterhouse. As of July 1, 1999, all businesses that sell or handle food will be required to implement such a system. LF is in the process of implementing its own HACCP system, aiming to be one of the first companies to do so. In addition, all LF employees recently completed a one-day food safety refresher course. The accredited course has been extremely well received, with employees eager to enjoy the fruits of their labor knowing that they won’t get sick from eating those fruits – they will be prepared to follow all guidelines.
