What is it called when the center sends the ball to the quarterback? (football)?

I know absolutely nothing about football (soccer i.e. not football) and I swear to god this question is in my gym homework packet…..but apparently it’s a 9 letter word , and I think it starts with an “s”, or more the crossword tells me. I thought it was a “snap” or a “step” but I think there is another word for it…..

Answer 1

wink, sometimes they say he also passed the ball to the quarterback
wait, wait… 9 letters?! wtf?! I have no idea… and I play football

answer 2

Can be an indicator used to tell a receiver to take a different route due to defensive alignment. It is also used to signal to the center that the QB is ready for the ball whenever the center is ready to slam. But GENERALLY, it is to signal the movement of the man to initiate his movement. And sometimes it’s just to distract the defense, to make them look for what the QB might signal.

answer 3

He takes the ball to the QB, but some people call it snapping his fingers.
I can’t think of a 9 letter word that would fit.

answer 4
