My Gamecubes Reset Button Is Stuck In, Will This Affect Its Ability To Play Gamecube Games, Or Work In General?

Last week my friend bought me a gamecube, but I noticed that the reset button was stuck. I don’t have any games yet, but just in case, could this somehow break? If so, is there a way to unlock it (but I don’t know how it got stuck)

Mine had the same problem, but don’t worry, it will only affect the reset button. The rest of the system and games should work fine.

I don’t have a Gamecube, but I imagine you press the reset button? If so take something like a pencil and push the lead into the opening and pull it up, if not maybe use the online sale for around £27

If you open it carefully, you can probably disable the button or fix it. Unfortunately, all Nintendo products use a star-shaped screw to hold everything together. You may need to grab something to fish around the sides of the pimple (see if there’s anything lodged there) and release. If it works, it may be stuck in a constant reset loop when turned on. It may also have a feature to prevent it from constantly resetting itself, such as it can only reset once if you hold the button down and then have to use it again; in this case, fine. The only way to be sure is to get a game.
