Do gas stations usually have enough to change a 100?

I went to a gas station once, two days in a row, and couldn’t help but buy something because they had no change. You think it’s because they don’t really have change or because I look like I’m 14 and my $100 bill is probably counterfeit.

some do and some don’t. I think most gas stations don’t accept hundred dollar bills because they are more likely to be stolen and they don’t want people to think they have a lot of money.

I highly doubt it’s because of her looks. I think most gas stations carry less change as I think they feel that if they have less cash they are less likely to get ripped off. I hope that helps.

Most convenience stores I know are not allowed to keep more than $40 in their cash registers to deter thieves.
I doubt they think you are counterfeit, I’ve donated hundreds of boxes to other stores and they’ve taken them. And I look quite young.

I would be wary of a 14 year old boy with a hundred dollar bill. You may be honest, but the people at this store aren’t sure. amount of suspicion to stay alive and not get scammed.
